Always use care when hiking Mt. Washington - while extremely beautiful country, the weather can turn quickly.  Always bring adequate clothing and emergency gear. If in doubt, check with the Appalachian Club at Pinkham Notch (The trail head).  Weather in June can be 70+ in the valley but 32 degrees with 89 mph winds on the mountain!

Lions Head Trail

After hiking the Tuckerman's Ravine Trail for the first 2.3 miles (2 hours, 5 minutes), the Lion Heads trail begins with a steep climb up the side of Tuckerman's Ravine to a rocky outcropping (Lion's Head)

Trail distance from Pinkham Notch to the Summit of Mt Washington is 4.1 miles (4 hrs, 10 minutes).
