Always use care when hiking Mt. Washington - while extremely beautiful country, the weather can turn quickly.  Always bring adequate clothing and emergency gear. If in doubt, check with the Appalachian Club at Pinkham Notch (The trail head).  Weather in June can be 70+ in the valley but 32 degrees with 89 mph winds on the mountain! Boot Spur Trail

On a clear sunny day, this is one of the most beautiful hikes in the area as it is largely above tree line with panoramic views.

A recommended trail down as it puts a nice touch on a wonderful day.

But do not take this trail if your feet have been bothering you because it is mile after mile of open rock.

Since the trail skirts the ravine wall, the distance is longer.  Plan on 4 hours, 50 minutes for this 5.4 mile hike (1.2 miles longer than Tuckerman's)
